The tragic shooting death Feb. 9 of Billy E. Howard while he was shoveling snow is a perfect demonstration of why Driving Park does not need more guns on the streets. The proposed gun store and shooting range on Alum Creek Drive would be just a few blocks from where Howard was shot. This facility can only mean a net loss for a community already struggling with gun violence. Communities east of Alum Creek -- Berwick and Bexley -- also can expect an increase in gun violence if this facility goes forward.
